Emmy Law is an indie pop singer-songwriter originally from Gainesville, GA. Since moving to Atlanta, she’s performed in some of the city’s top venues, including historic Eddie’s Attic, Red Clay Theater, and the Music Room at Smith’s Olde Bar. She’s also made a name for herself in Atlanta’s open mic scene, winning the night and advancing to the final round in a few of the best the city has to offer: Eddie’s Attic, EOP at the Red Clay Theater, and the 99x Original Series. In 2014, Emmy won the John Jarrard Foundation songwriting contest, which was judged in part by members of the Zac Brown Band. As part of the contest winnings, Emmy opened onstage for some renowned Nashville songwriters, and says it’s been one of her favorite moments in her performing career.
Under My Feet is Emmy her new single and it sounds grandiose. I really like the uplifting melodies which create unique ambiances. Besides, the vocal performance is as expected sublime, Emmy has such a powerful voice. Furthermore, I am also a big fan of the dynamic chorus!
Speaking about the track, Emmy says: ”While the song was inspired by the feeling of heartbreak, the last section is unexpectedly energetic and hopeful. The band had fun recording this in the studio, and this tune is frequently a show closer.”
