Introducing: Jessie Iris – Good For You

Jessie Iris is a new, up-and-coming, independent Pop/R&B artist based in Nashville, TN. He takes influences from artists such as Prince, Earth Wind & Fire, Frank Ocean, Daniel Caesar, and many others.

Good For You is Jessie his new single and it sounds awesome. I really like the modern melodies which showcase new creative expressions. Moreover, the vocal performance is grandiose, Jessie knows to capture attention until the last note. Furthermore, I am also a big fan of the dynamic chorus!

Speaking about the track, Jessie says: ”I had an on again, off again relationship with a girl from college. We studied abroad together, got very close, spent a good amount of time together. However, I never knew where I stood with her. So one day I approached her and asked her if she ever thought about being serious with me. She told me that she really did like me but she didn’t think we could ever work together because I was “good for her”. It boggled my mind that this was something that made sense in her head. I explored the idea of how people are enthralled with danger and craziness in romance that they will throw away something that makes them happy and secure just for some danger.”
