MARLO has long awaited the release of her own music. She’s a singer-songwriter, a performer, an artist. Her debut EP, Broken Lyrics, was released in January 2019. It was written in a basement, an RV, and college apartments, resulting in lyrics heavy with nostalgia and regret, but tinged with hope.
Open Road is a track of MARLO’s debut EP and it sounds amazing. I really like the nostalgic piano melodies. Besides, the vocals are very captivating. Furthermore, I am also a big fan of the uplifting chorus!
Lyrically, MARLO knows to impress. Open Road is a simple ode to driving far and letting go.
The track is accompanied by a fantastic music video. The clip has a small (10s) intro not present in version on streaming services.
You can say without any doubt that Open Road is a modern gem. Start streaming it as soon as possible and feel free to sing along while listening!
