Francesca Blanchard has no more interest in hiding how she really feels. What’s the point? Following the release of her bilingual folk debut deux visions in 2015, the French-born Vermont native took some time to regroup and reassess where she fits in the world.

Francesca has released recently a cover of Bruce Springsteen’s track Streets of Philadelphia and it sounds amazing. I really like the gently thumping percussion. Besides, the vocals are captivating. Furthermore, I am also a big fan of the unique atmosphere!

Of her choice to cover the song, Francesca said “Bruce has a way of subtly capturing the darkest corners of the human condition. This song is poignant storytelling, with no bells or whistles. It’s a beckoning call that screams “You Are Not Alone.” I remember first hearing the chorus and feeling shaken; how could this songwriter make “Nah Nahs” sound like a rescue mission? Singing it and listening to it feels healing.”

You can say without any doubt that Francesca Blanchard exactly knows how to make good music, the cover of Streets of Philadelphia is a modern gem. Be sure to stream it as soon as possible!
