Lauren Hoffman is a songwriter, singer, and multi-instrumentalist.
Sunrise at the Apocalypse is a track of her sixth album Mercury Girls and it sounds amazing. I really like the quirky melodies. Besides, the vocals are sublime. Furthermore, I am also a big fan of the powerful chorus!
Speaking about the track, Lauren says: ”Sunrise at the Apocalypse was probably the most joyous and exciting of all the songs on my new album to record. The first part of the song is me playing piano, mellotron, acoustic guitar, bass, with Michael Taylor on drums. I had so much fun with that weird groove, a 4/4 against 3/4 kind of thing…Then the energy release when the song changes! Hammond organ and electric guitar join in, and Erin Lunsford, Alethea Leventhal, and Jeff Diehm come in, joining my vocal with choir-type backing vocals. I’d never written parts like that before. Such a blast!”
You can say without any doubt that Sunrise at the Apocalypse has all the facets of a modern gem. Be sure to stream it as soon as possible!
