Hailing from Vienna, Austria,  Marie Lang discovered her love for music at an early age, which led her to relocate to Boston in 2012 to attend Berklee College of Music. She graduated in 2016 and spent the next couple of years in Brooklyn before moving out to LA this past year to focus on more collaborations.

Don’t Wanna Go Back is Marie’s new single and it is a brilliant piece of music. I really like the modern pop melodies. Besides, the dynamics are impressive. Furthermore, I am also a big fan of the delicate vocals.

Lyrically, Marie knows to impress. Don’t Wanna Go Back is about a classic friends-with-benefits situation, where the lines get blurred.

On the single, Marie says: ”I wrote this song in the first all-female session I’ve ever had. I’m so happy I was put in touch with Sadie Currey and Ester Na, known as The Wildcardz. I’ve mostly written and produced other songs on the EP with guys (who I love dearly), but it was special to have a girls squad on this one. Around the same time we were wrapping up production, I went to the “Joining Forces Summit” hosted by Community Reboot and She Is The Music and was educated by statistics on the ratio of women in different positions in the music industry, which was way more shocking than I had already expected. After that, it was extremely important to me to also hire a female mastering engineer, so I hit up my friend Martina Albano and between all of us I think we created a really amazing song!  I’m super thankful for all the incredible ladies that have been part of this project, on the music and business side and hope I get to work with even more women in the future.”

Don’t Wanna Go Back is as expected a modern masterpiece. Start streaming it as soon as possible and feel free to sing along while listening!
