Daisy’s musical journey started with YouTube where she would upload covers by artists such as the 1975 and Taylor Swift with her guitar. As her channel grew she started sharing her original music and has also had many viral successes such as her cover of Hopelessly Devoted which has over 12M views, and has even had Billie Eilish rave about her voice: “She has the kind of voice you just want to listen to”.
The Fires is Daisy’s new single and it sounds amazing. I really like the soulful melodies. Besides, the harmonies are wonderful. Furthermore, I am also a big fan of the dynamic chorus!
Lyrically, the song is extremely powerful. The song juxtaposes the solemn faces we see walking down the street and the lack of smiles in the often grey world around us. With so much hurt/sadness we see on TV/in our lives, this song aims to bring back a little more ‘fire’ to the world and the listener.
