Rebecka Rydgren, also known as RBECKA, started her musical career at 18 years old. As an independent artist, her music has been streamed over 750.000 times on Spotify and featured in several playlists including New Music Friday Iceland.
Now, three years later, RBECKA has developed her own sound of melancholic dark pop influenced by soul and R’n’B. She draws her inspiration from artists such as Florence + The Machine and Dua Lipa, among other strong female acts.
RBECKA has released last Friday her new single Bad Intentions and it sounds very impressive. I really like the powerful vocals. Besides, the dynamic melodies are captivating. Furthermore, I am also a big fan of the unique textures.
On the single, RBECKA says: A person very close to me was showing narcissistic and manipulative tendencies without being aware of what they were doing. From that frustration, Bad Intentions was born.’’
