Having only released her first single in April, Mabes has been BBC Radio 1’s Best New Pop, played her first sold out headline show and has amassed over 7 million streams.

A year ago, she was in full-time employment – now she’s a full-time musician and one of the hottest unsigned acts in the UK.

Wait & See is Mabes’s new single and it sounds amazing. I really like the mellow yet powerful melodies. Besides, the layered vocal harmonies are captivating. Furthermore, I am also a big fan of the double bass!

On the single, Mabes says: “Like a lot of girls, I struggled with friends and fall outs at school – kids are so mean, because they don’t understand the implications of their actions. I spent many nights crying in bed because I didn’t want to go to school the next day. My mum supported me through these tough nights and would always say “just wait and see til the morning, everything seems so much worse at night, a little morning sunlight through the window will make everything seem better”.

Wait and see is ultimately a song about hope, and that most things are never as bad as they seem at the time.”

Mabes made incredibly good music, Wait & See is a track that needs a lot of attention. Be sure to stream it as soon as possible!
