Rising out of Nashville’s growing pop scene, Maria Shockey is the empowered songstress guaranteed to be your new favorite artist.
Collectively, her music has been based around the concept of who we pretend to be, what it looks like to honestly confront those facades, and how to navigate the feelings that come with embracing truth – even when it’s messy.
Know It All is Shockey’s new single and it sounds amazing. I like the crystal clear vocals. Besides, the hooks are powerful. Furthermore, I am also a fan of the dynamics.
On the single, Shockey says: ”It was a song I wrote by myself – sitting on my bedroom floor with my guitar late at night. I didn’t necessarily expect it to be a song I’d cut for the record, so it’s really nice to get to release something that’s back to the roots of how my songwriting began.
The song is a confessional – the words I didn’t get to say at the end of a broken relationship. It recounts the night of the initial conversation that ended things and the aftermath of what followed, detail for detail, 100% truthfully. The red car, October time stamp, staying up all night crying with my best friend. How I wanted to believe that he really was the classic good guy that we all thought he was.”
Shockey is such a talented artist, she never disappoints. Know It All has all the elements of modern art. Start streaming it as soon as possible!
