Born and raised in Los Angeles, Niki is Iranian-American, with influences that represent her mixed heritage. Her father, a Chicago native, introduced her to the blues and American classics, while her mother filled the house with the sounds of Iran – from classical music to Iranian pop legend, Googoosh.
Today, Niki draws inspiration from artists like Lorde, Blood Orange, Years & Years, and Sevdaliza.
She released Last Friday her new single The Other Man and it sounds so good. I like the bouncy beats. Besides, the vocals are out of this world. Furthermore, I am also a fan of the powerful hooks and unique rhythms.
On the single, Niki says: ”In this song, the other man is actually consciousness, just like the serpent in the Bible.
The other man is the rebellion and awakening that will burst your Eden apart. It’s temptation. Lust. The embodiment of sexuality. The other man is tension. Or, in more modern terms, it is the undeniable feeling of channeling something internal when the person you are interested in ghosts you – when you and your girls are out for the night and you’re gonna conquer that other man…because screw your crush for not seeing how amazing you are.”
Niki is such a talented artist, she’s so artistic. The Other Man has all the elements of modern art. Make sure to stream it as soon as possible!
You can stream The Other Man below on SoundCloud or Spotify!
