Madelyn Paquette recently released her new single Broke Like Me and it sounds so good. I like the catchy melodies. Besides, the hooks are powerful. Furthermore, I am also a fan of the unique vocals and energetic drums.
On the single, Paquette says: Broke Like Me was written on the floor of my freshman dorm practice room, just my co-writer Ryan Doyle and I. The writing process was super fun- the first thing we came up with was the “na na na” post-chorus (was more of a filler in the moment but stuck). The song itself is a bit cynical, a reminder that getting your heart broken sucks- we both had a couple friends we were “singing to” while writing the lyrics. We wanted to write something of a cautionary tale, but also something anthemic.”
Paquette is such a talented artist. Broke Like Me defines good music. Be sure to stream it as soon as possible!
