In summer 2019, Dutch singer songwriter ferdinant. moved to Berlin, where he recorded his first songs in the beautiful „Famous Gold Watch“ studios. The result are four intimate yet cinematic, very personal and carefully handcrafted songs.

Pines is third one and sounds so good. I like the uplifting melodies. Besides, the vocals are out of this world. Furthermore, I am also a fan of the cinematic elements.

On the single, ferdinant. says: ”Pines is a song about losing a battle you couldn’t win or lose, its about a moment of collision, where things just slip away even though you don’t want them to. I wrote it about a past relationship in an effort to understand what went wrong. Different worlds, and an end in heavy conflict. So maybe its more about letting go and enjoying the victory of standing up for yourself. This song is about empowerment and believing in yourself, no matter what you go through.”
