Lily Lyon is an indie pop artist who has been writing and performing for 12 years. She got her start as the lead of a hard rock band in her home state of New Jersey. She then moved to Boston to attend her dream school, Berklee College of Music. After graduation, she moved out to Los Angeles to pursue her pop writing. Her Brazilian heritage has heavily influenced her taste and she hopes to implement popular Brazilian styles in her music in order to increase the visibility of the Brazilian American community in the United States and bridge the gap in the Latin American market that lacks Brazilian representation.
Stuck is Lyon’s new single and it sounds so good. I like the unique pop melodies. Besides, the vocals are out of this world. Furthermore, I am also a fan of the dynamic elements and solid hooks.
On the single, Lily says: ”Stuck is about my recovery period after massive heartbreak. I think we’ve all been there, it’s when you’re finally ready and excited to put yourself out there but you’re also still quite raw. What isn’t quite obvious is that the song is about anxiety, the “people pleasing” anxiety that many women suffer to have our minds made up and put our own needs and wants last. There is already a heavy stereotype around women not knowing what they want and so the songs starts off with this internal debate with myself and by the end there’s some acceptance of it. A realization that it is okay to not know and it’s okay to take it day by day.”
Lyon always makes good music, she’s so creative and artistic. Stuck has all the facets of a true masterpiece. Be sure to stream it as soon as possible!
