Lauren Auder is a singer-songwriter from Albi, a town in Southwestern France. Their songs provide a lens to themes of love, pain, and discontent. Auder’s wide range of musical influences, from pop, hip-hop, post-rock to classical music, producing music that’s akin to Scott Walker singing Lorde songs. The expansive sonic palette was first articulated on their debut EP Who Carry’s You (2018). In addition to music, Auder has had some forays into the fashion world, working for the likes of Gucci and being tapped as the face for Heidi Slimane’s debut collection for Celine in 2018.
Their new single is Meek and it sounds so good. I like the sublime vocals. Besides, the melodies are powerful. Furthermore, I am also a fan of the solid hooks and uplifting vibes.
The single is accompanied by a fantastic music video, directed by Will Reid.
