Olivia Reid is a multidimensional singer, songwriter, producer, and sound engineer.
She just released her brand new single Visitor, taken from the forthcoming EP Earth Water, due out this summer.
The song is a real gem. I like the unique guitar riffs. Besides, the vocals are sublime. Furthermore, I am also a fan of the delicate electronic textures.
Lyrically, the song is very impressive. Olivia wrote Visitor while traveling the world and feeling as if she was lacking a sense of belonging. She started thinking about her body as a “home” for her soul and felt that even in her own body, she still felt like a “visitor” asking around for spiritual directions. She realized this kind of disassociation made her feel as if she belonged everywhere, and nowhere, at the same time. Hence the lines “just tourist in my own home” and a “visitor in my own body”. However, there’s a sense of peace in this existence, because at least “I know what I am”.
Visitor is paired with a fantastic music video, directed by Alison Kusmik. The visuals are so artistic.
Olivia always makes good music, she’s so talented. Visitor has everything to become a success. Start streaming it as soon as possible!
