Lauren is a 25-year-old singer-songwriter from Brighton.
She recently released her brand new single Sounds Like Hope, taken from the forthcoming EP Honest, slated for release soon.
The song sounds so good. I like the simple guitar arrangement. Besides, the vocals are on point. Furthermore, I am also a fan of the uplifting elements and solid hooks.
Lyrically, the song has so much meaning. It’s vulnerable and raw.
Speaking about the track, Lauren says: ”Sounds Like Hope was written about that tiny spark of hope when you’re in the darkness. Depression is so insidious that you don’t necessarily want to get better but there are moments and you have to hang onto them for dear life because those are the moments that are going to get you out of the darkness. And this song is about one of those moments, when I felt hope for the first time in a really, really long time. It was fleeting and fragile but it was there and it was real. And it took a long time but things did go up from there.”
