DAYLA is a Parisian artist based in London.
She recently released her new single Lighthouse.
The song is produced, mixed and mastered by NBO TOWN.
Lighthouse sounds so good. I like the wonderful beats. Besides, the vocals are sublime. Furthermore, I’m also a fan of the solid hooks and uplifting elements.
Lyrically, DAYLA delivers. It’s raw and vulnerable. Her writing skills are impressive.
Speaking about the track, DAYLA says: ”Lighthouse is not a classic pop song: it tells a story. I wrote it when I was struggling to get along with a loved one. The idea was to bring love, the light of the lighthouse, to people who aren’t alright, who are being negative and hard to deal with. Through time, it became the song that gave me hope when my mom was dying; then it became the song that helped me through the process of grieving. I hope this song will help others during this difficult time we’re all facing.”
The single is paired with a music video. It’s directed, shot and edited by CY Collaboration. ”The video shoot was done in one day with no budget: we only had a green screen, a DV camera and the natural light,” DAYLA comments.
The clip is unique and meaningful. It really captures the essence of the song. Visually the video looks incredible.
DAYLA’s music connects with people. The artistry in her work is amazing.
After a complete reworking of her songs, DAYLA is releasing her first EP over the summer.
