Ally Evenson is a Detroit based Indie/Folk singer/songwriter.
She recently released her debut EP Not so Pretty.
One of the highlights is the title track.
Not so Pretty sounds so good. I like the brilliant guitar work. Besides, the vocals are stellar. Furthermore, I’m also a fan of the unique grooves and solid hooks.
Lyrically, Ally delivers. She has an impressive writing style.
Speaking about the track, the artist says: ”The song is the title track for a reason, and that reason kind of sums up what the entire EP is about. I wrote this song after a year of verbal online abuse from an ex friend who wanted more out of our friendship than I was willing to give (something women go through daily). The song is about accepting that you are a good person regardless of how inconsequential one person can make you feel. It’s about learning to say “F you, I’m who I am, and that’s enough”.
Ally’s music connects with people. Her art has so much personality.
The song deserved to be heard. Every second is captivating.
