The song has a unique quality to it. I like the excellent grooves. Besides, the vocals are stellar. Furthermore, I’m also a fan of the floaty melodies and delicate harmonies.
Lyrically, Ray delivers. She has an artful writing style.
Speaking about the track, the artist says: ”Being an adult is both scary and liberating. Often as children we’re told what we can and can’t do and what we want seems so clear. But as we grow up, the question of ‘what do YOU want?’ can be a question met with a deafening silence. For and Against is a song about growing up and growing apart from someone, how heartbreaking it can be and the desire to overcome the noise and anxiety and to hear your own voice.”
Ray creates her own genre. Her music connects with people.
