Kit Major is an Art Pop Singer/Songwriter from Chicago. Influenced by pop culture and style, Major uses elements of classic pop and rock.
She recently released her new single Miss Sixteen.
The song sounds so good. I like the quirky beats. Besides, the hooks are solid. Furthermore, I’m also a fan of the sultry vocal performance and brilliant guitar work.
Lyrically, Major delivers. She has a unique writing style.
Speaking about the track, the artist says: ”I went back home for the holidays last year and it was nice to be there at first… but I felt like I was seeing the ghost of who I used to be. A lot people see high school as golden days, but I wouldn’t want to go back to that. I was unhappy, bullied, insecure, and scared of using my voice.
I want listeners to take away from this song that things will get better. You have permission to grow and change, without getting rid of all parts of you. I am still that quiet girl at 16 and I like her.
Miss Sixteen is about keeping a dream-like wonder of the world, but also learning about stepping into your own power. I’m talking to myself at sixteen, myself now, and all sixteen year olds then and now. This song is a shared experience.”
Major’s music connects with people. She is an inspiring artist.
The song deserves to be heard. It’s a gem.
You can stream Miss Sixteen on Spotify or YouTube!
