The song sounds so impressive. I like the mellow guitar work. Besides, the hooks are solid. Furthermore, I’m also a fan of the unique vocals and harmonies.
Lyrically, Cheska shines. Every sentence is well-thought-off.
Almost Over illustrates the battle of going back to a relationship even though it’s not good for you.
Primarily, the track exposes the poignant depth of emotion felt when fighting against your inner self for what’s best for you. The repeated lines ‘only ever almost over’ enhance the idea that letting something or someone go is not always as easy as it sounds, but the song itself seems to be a conciliation of the internal struggle: ‘the only way I could love you is if I let you go’.
Cheska inspires with her music. She has her own style.
The song is captivating from start to finish. It deserves 5 stars.
