Written while unable to speak or sing and prescribed on antibiotics, I’m a Mess projects an unfiltered image of how Cristina saw herself at that point in her life. She had finally admitted that not being on her A-game 24/7 was okay – a message that has captivated audiences with its relatability. In a world obsessed with perfection, Cristina sings that it is our kinks and glitches that make us human, now more than ever.
The existential pop artist radiates power. The song deserves to be heard.
