South London’s James Vickery is the new face of UK R&B. With his hugely popular COLORS session amassing 19 million views, James caught the attention of many admirers internationally, subsequently leading to the London-born songwriter inking record and publishing deals with LA-based TH3RD BRAIN and Roc Nation respectively despite being born deaf in his left ear.
He just released his new single Pressure Pt II (with Sinead Harnett). This the follow up to the hugely successful Pressure (with SG Lewis), in which Vickery continues the story with the aid of the R&B songstress.
The song sounds so good. I like the catchy melodies. Besides, the hooks are powerful. Furthermore, I’m also a fan of the soulful grooves and impressive vocals.
Speaking about The Reworks project, James gives us this insight: “I wanted to do something different instead of just putting out typical remixes for Overture. I’m a singer through and through, so I wanted to showcase some extraordinary singers that I know and love. With each song I’ve tried to do something completely different and original, be it continuing the story from the original song, or singing in another language…”
James is iconic. His music connects with people.
The song has all the ingredients of a hit. It deserves to be heard.
