North London-based singer-songwriter Stella Angelika returns with the poignant Take Me Home, the third single in a series of releases that soulfully blend R&B & classical music. The release of previous singles Denouement and Little Serenade garnered strong support from the likes of EARMILK and The Line Of Best Fit, as well as being shared with nourish’s 763K strong YouTube following, taking her music further round the world than it’s ever been before.
Take Me Home sounds so good. I like the soulful vocals. Besides, the grooves are smooth. Furthermore, I’m also a fan of the unique guitar work.
Following on closely from Little Serenade, Stella continues to explore her own experiences with depression in Take Me Home. ‘It’s about a state I used to get to a lot where I would feel completely empty and numb. Like I had nothing more to give, where even talking or smiling was an effort and I’d almost be in a trance, just staring. I would get this a lot coming home from gigs, where I felt like I’d given everything and just had nothing left. It’s a song about needing someone else to carry you, to be your strength because you have none. To take you back home, literally and metaphorically.’
Stella has her own style. She’s an inspiring artist.
The song deserves 5 stars. It’s captivating from start to finish.
