Lefuturewave is a music blog based in the Netherlands. We feature emerging as well as established artists.
DIY Australian indie-pop artist RACKETT has returned with up-tempo sugary pop track Crush, co-written, produced and mixed by Dave Hammer (Lime Cordiale, Mia Rodriguez), and mastered by Grammy Award-winning engineer, Joe Laporta (Solange, FKA Twigs).
Crush sounds so good. The song features catchy melodies, stellar vocals, unique grooves, and powerful hooks.
Lyrically, RACKETT shines. Her writing skills are impressive.
“Crush is my best work yet,” said RACKETT. “I’m totally smitten with the lyrics and sound design. Dave and I created layers of experimental sounds, even recording paper ripping in the studio to compliment the lyrics; ‘tear my logic apart, gimme your love get me outta this crush. I love to create music and art that combines both digital and raw elements within one space.”
The video captures the spirit of the song. It was produced and co-directed by the indie-pop artist.
RACKETT continues to deliver good music. Crush deserves 5 stars. It’s a modern masterpiece, in my opinion.
The track is taken from RACKETT’s debut mini-album, due for release in November 2020.
