Birmingham-based producer, songwriter and vocalist Matt Ryder’s nuanced electronica creates wave upon wave of emotion. On his new single Not The Same he imagines a nostalgic timeline for himself because here in 2020 “falling in love with somebody, is not like it used to be”.
The song features smooth guitar work, rich pop melodies, stellar vocals, catchy sounds, and solid hooks.
Ryder’s lyrics are impressive. He’s a real storyteller.
During the short space of time in which the artist has crafted his latest offerings, it’s clear his skills have improved, yet his sonic world still captures the unrelenting cadence of teenage life.
Ryder continues to deliver good music. Not The Same deserves 5 stars.
