Esmée Denters makes her long-awaited return to the mainstage with her latest single Love Me The Same, the first release from a 3 single project: Past, Present, Future.
Each single from the project takes on a period of time regarding a romantic relationship, with this first track taking on the latter, asking questions of the partner and how they would feel in a variety of hypothetical circumstances.
Love Me The Same sounds so good. The song features energetic melodies, outstanding vocals, catchy pop sounds, and solid hooks.
Lyrically, Esmée is talented. She writes with flair. Captivating from beginning to end.
Speaking about the track, the artist says: ”We all go through hard times. We say things we don’t mean. So the song is about wanting your other half to love and accept you for who you are with all of your flaws, no matter what might come your way in the future. Initially, it was written as a ballad, but I felt like I wanted to take it in a different direction to offset the lyrics. My good friend and producer Shaun Reynolds then started shaping the track. Going back and forth on zoom calls without ever having to set foot in the studio. I recorded all the vocals from home. It’s pretty amazing what you can do with just a laptop, mic and an internet connection.”
Esmée speaks the language of art. Love Me The Same deserves 5 stars. Iconic work. A real bop.
