Toronto-based artist Emsea recently released her debut single Anymore.
The sound creates an ethereal tone. Emsea captivates listeners with compelling melodies, stunning vocals, and memorable hooks.
Lyrically, she’s as thoughtful as ever. Every line has meaning. Anymore reflects on the confusion and duality of wanting to be wrong about a relationship coming to end and finding the inner-strength to break the cycle and walk away
The music video was filmed in Port-Hope, Ontario and was directed by Jerome Riel. It portrays the story of a relationship breaking down and coming to a long-winded end, superimposed with imagery of an old victorian house, mirroring the symbolism in the lyrics.
“Although the story was told from the perspective of the female lead, I wanted to make sure the male wasn’t portrayed as the antagonist per say. I think Brian and Dina really did a great job of this and Jerome directed them perfectly. The song really speaks about the complexity of breakups and how things aren’t always black and white but at the end of the day if something isn’t working, you need to find the strength to move on and do what’s right for you.”
Emsea is a rising talent. Anymore deserves to be heard. A real masterpiece, in my opinion.
