Hello is Disco Shrines’ latest single off her debut EP xoxo, disco. This project chronicles her dating life in Los Angeles. She writes and sings about the rollercoaster of emotions that come with dating in your 20’s: everything from love at first sight and heartbreak to feeling empowered on your own and having friends with benefits.
Produced by TayDex (Phem, Tei Shi, Fat Tony) & Waine (Party Favor, Jai Wolf, Robokid, Wes Period) and co-written by Liz Nistico (Holychild), Hello was created by a powerhouse of LA artists.
Sounds floating around. The song features catchy melodies, stunning vocals, r&b beats, and solid hooks. Captivating from the first second.
Lyrically, Shrine remains as thoughtful as ever. She’s a skilled writer.
In the song, Shrine explores another side of the dating cycle: friends with benefits. Only this time, she deals with falling for someone who was never meant to be more than “just a friend” and all of the uncertainty that follows.
The accompanying music video, directed by m00nglasses, was shot throughout East LA and captures the nostalgic feeling of being young, carefree, and caught off guard with new feelings.
Hello has all the ingredients of a hit. Pop at its best. A real masterpiece, in my opinion.
