Lefuturewave is a music blog based in the Netherlands. We feature emerging as well as established artists.
Sonically influenced by the likes of Oh Wonder and Corinne Bailey Rae, Susie Mills’s sound is understated yet carries a unique presence that causes the listener to stop and listen.
She recently released new single Perfection.
I like the structure. Every element has a purpose. Susie captivates listeners with smooth melodies, groovy rhythms, sublime vocals, and a solid chorus.
”This song is about cutting ties with perfectionism and the journey to becoming less self-critical. I co-wrote it with my friend Jacques Miché as a response to the unhealthy pressure and expectations that we can put on ourselves in this fast-paced modern world. It is a challenge to not get swept up in the chaos and busyness of life, but instead to stay rooted and connected to yourself and to embrace your humanity. The song also sheds light on the pressure of the music industry and how as an artist you can get caught up by different voices and opinions, forgetting your initial passion.”
Susie’s music shows her soulfulness. She creates art that’s meant to inspire. Very intriguing.
