Psych-pop newcomers pecq release debut single Stranger, one of the best songs I have heard in a while. It’s self-produced during lockdown, making this song iconic. Crisp vocals blend well over electronics and drums, absolutely creative.
About the track, Jakes (vocalist) say: ‘Stranger is about losing myself somewhere between past and present. Events, traumas or lies send us far away from a past self, but when you finally arrive somewhere new you can’t recognise yourself there either. The song for me is being stuck in a ghostly limbo disco haunted by memories of an unreachable past.’
pecq are currently working on an EP of the same name, due out 15th April. I’m looking forward to it. In the meanwhile, check out Stranger below!
