British duo Rumara, formed in South London in 2019, finally release debut single Storm. Strong vocals soar over warm synths and ascending strings, creating an interesting soundscape. It’s energetic and cinematic, taking elements from different genres to deliver an anthem. The lyrics, inspired by the sci-fi worlds of Ursula Le Guin and the murkier undercurrents of Korean cinema, addressing urban alienation and what happens when a haven becomes a cage.
