Mikayla McLean is a singer/songwriter from Schenectady, New York. In 2020, she unveiled debut single What to do. Long Road, her second single of 2021, is an ode to acceptance, adulthood, and breathing. Mikayla effortlessly fuses Country with Indie Pop. Rich vocals are accompanied by guitar and drums. Excellent lyrics, as usual.
Mikayla comments: ”I initially wrote this song on my guitar in my bedroom. It was much slower and somber, the feeling of dread of the work that’s ahead. But then I worked on it, and the deeper I got, the more I accepted that the work ahead needn’t be so scary, especially if you learn to take the time you need for yourself, first.”
