AvA, the brainchild of singer/songwriter/director Eva Menard, returns with indie pop song, Regarde-moi, which is somewhat melancholic while also having decent energy. An excellent soundscape makes you feel like you’re entering an entirely new world. Over the electronic production, a rich vocal soars. Lyrically, AvA talks about today’s post-modern solitude. That’s super relevant and intriguing, I think.
The music video, co-directed by the artist herself and her stage accomplice Zoé Cavaro, is a surrealist ultra-poetic short. It follows a blindfolded young woman, in a lost quest to find herself. A symbol for broken youth and deeply rooted insecurities that cheat loneliness by painting the relentless void with glittery makeup.
Regarde-moi presents a lot of thought-provoking messages. AvA’s incredible versatility is shown by how well she has managed to create this. Check it out below!
