Did You is the most recent single from Rotterdam-based artist Philippine. She continues to develop her sound, as expected. Rich and instantly recognizable vocals maintain a great flow. I’ve heard some segments in this track that remind me of Julia Michaels’ and Orla Gartland’s style of music. The chorus remains flawlessly crafted.
Philippine wrote Did You when she was trying to clear her head. “I was in a place where I felt a little lost and lonely. I couldn’t help but wonder if someone from my past, that I was no longer in contact with, would’ve been the one to understand what I was going through. With that question stuck in my head, I wrote Did You.”
This song can easily be described as brilliant. A debut EP is on the way, so new work can be expect in the near future. While you’re waiting, listen to Did You below!
