UK singer-songwriter Manpreet Kundi presents her down-tempo debut single, something. When the instrumental kicks in, the atmosphere is immediately set. Two of the key elements are signature acoustic piano and heavy, slow drum beats. By adding authentic vocals to the mix, the sound gets a more dynamic quality. Unlike traditional pop lyrics, these are raw, emotional and melancholic, making them incredibly compelling for an audience to listen to.
In its core something is about doubting everything you ever were to someone who for a while made you feel the most significant. It’s the chaos and sheer sadness in the breakdown of what you had with someone, after they change their mind and leave you in panicked confusion with little explanation.
