Romanie is a Melbourne-based artist whose new single, Stranger In My Skin, will melt your heart. By pairing guitar focused instrumentals with soothing vocals, this song gets an exceptional sound. I like the concept of this dreamy Indie Pop production; certainly inventive.
A personal, vulnerability tone can be heard in the lyrics. Stranger In My Skin becomes even more authentic as a result. Romanie describes the inspiration for her new song as follows: ”It’s about feeling lost and alienated from the outside world and yourself. I wrote it during the second lockdown in Melbourne last year – a period in which I felt very alone and very far away from home (literally as well). I had some really bad days where I wouldn’t take good care of my mental health and this song was written the first time after I had picked up my guitar again. I was really angry with myself for feeling that way and let myself slip.”
On August 13th, Romanie will release her EP, named Little Big. Based on the high quality of Stranger In My Skin, it’s likely to be brilliant.
