24 year-old French singer-songwriter Alba James currently lives in Sweden. Moonchild is one of her newest songs and is very soothing in its sound and musically impressive. I particularly appreciate the ukulele accompaniment. Also, don’t ignore the bright (backing) vocals that make the lyrics come alive. These two aspects are what make this piece so incredible.
Here are Alba’s words about the track: ”I wanted to write about the way I see my lover, in the form of a fairytale. I produced it last winter both at home and in studio. I got inspired by the moonlight shining on the snow by the window (I live in Sweden where it gets very snowy). I sing about how love makes you see your lover in a surreal way.”
