Jazzie Young, an LA-based artist, began releasing her own music last year. Her debut EP has been featured in Rolling Stone, Flaunt, Under the Radar, etc. She now surprises fans with a cover of The Cranberries’ Zombie. I like this new version so much, especially since it merges strong vocals and brilliant alternative-rock instrumentation. Textures are rich and precise, generating an atmospheric effect.
Jazzie’s inventiveness cannot be ignored. This recording showcases her ability to construct a sound that has its own particular tone. It reveals a sense of attention to detail.
Zombie’s music video depicts the song’s meaning quite well. It was directed by Amy Ryerson Charissa Kroeger. Check it out below as well.
