AmPm, a very talented Tokyo-based duo, releases their debut album, Traveling Without Moving. In it, you’ll explore different places around the globe, including Amsterdam, New York City, and more. So get to know other cities this summer without a plane. A group of ten guest vocalists leads the way. Rising stars Lilly Ahlberg and RAENE, who share the same hallmark of being brilliant, are part of this ensemble.
Traveling Without Moving tells personal stories and reflections. A wide range of emotions are expressed throughout the project, which enhances its authenticity. Production-wise, all songs have an electronic flavor, but each sounds different. My favorites are Fall Back, Wake Up, and Good Life. They inspire me to let go. The grooves and melodies you hear are energetic and driving, so sitting down isn’t an option. I also like Interlude – Jakarta because it has such a cool atmospheric sound; one that doesn’t easily lose any appeal.
Even though AmPm wear masks to remain completely anonymous, their music has enough identity. I mean Traveling Without Moving gives you the feeling of being on places you’ve never been before. This alone is amazing, and keeps you listening day after day.
