In her latest single Unhurt, ELIZZA tells the story of a relationship that didn’t work out. She wishes she could take back the pain she’s caused and heal not just the other person, but herself as well. Listening to this song is like reading a poem—it’s enchantingly written and will leave you feeling deeply moved.
The accompanying acoustic music video (now out) directed by Elliot Simpson showcases a dream-like atmosphere with ELIZZA performing along with the pianist and violinist. The bare room expressing the emptiness but also creating a space for what the future holds. The video is a visual interpretation of the song’s lyrics, and it’s just as breathtaking as the song itself. ELIZZA has this uncanny ability to convey emotion through her music, and it’s on full display in this visual.
It has been a while since we’ve heard from ELIZZA, but it has definitely been worth the wait. Her new single is absolutely stunning – you can feel her sincerity with every syllable she sings. Unhurt shows us that when we fall in love, it’s easy to take others for granted and end up saying or doing hurtful things unintentionally, but we shouldn’t forget that some scars cannot be erased no matter how hard we try.
