When you’re feeling uncertain in your relationship, it can be hard to know what to do. Do you hold on even when it feels like there’s nothing to hold on to? Or do you take the opportunity to explore other options?
Drew Schueler and Kiki Halliday’s latest single, Ruins, accurately portrays the feeling of being in a relationship where you’ve no idea what the future holds. You’re holding on until there’s nothing left to hold on to, and you’re hoping for the best but preparing for the worst.
The track is built around a guitar melody that’s repeated continuously, with different elements added in to keep it fresh. The production overall is clean, polished, and vibrantly colorful. We love that Ruins sounds so different from anything else out there right now. It’s exciting and new, but still has that classic pop vibe. It’s perfect for those who want something a little bit different, but still want to stick to the mainstream.
