It can be really tough to reconcile the fact that we can simultaneously like and dislike someone. Emerging singer-songwriter L.i.E knows this all too well, which is why she’s written a song about it. In her new single Hurt or Heal, L.i.E describes the complexities of accepting those whose personalities change all the time.
For some people, it’s easy to just cut ties with someone who’s always causing them pain. But for others, it’s nearly impossible to give up on that person entirely, no matter how much they might hurt them in the end. L.i.E’s song is an honest reflection of this internal struggle, and it’s something that many of us can relate to.
But remember that everyone is capable of change, and sometimes all it takes is a little bit of compassion to help them find their way. We all make mistakes, but that doesn’t mean we’re bad people. So be nice to yourself, and be nice to the others you care about. We’re all just trying to figure out this thing called life.
