Rivka Chaim’s new single, say mine, is about being in a situation where you know your relationship is over, but you’re still holding on and hoping for a miracle. You keep asking your partner to tell you that you’re still loved, even though you know it’s not true. It’s a heartbreaking song that speaks to the pain of letting go of what once was.
Chaim’s vocals are accompanied by a simple guitar arrangement that leaves room for spontaneity. She switches effortlessly between notes instead of keeping the same tone throughout. Her delivery conveys a great deal of emotion. This gives the song a feeling of instability and fragility, as if the relationship is about to crumble at any moment.
