It’s never easy when a relationship comes to an end, but it can be even harder when one person is moving to a different country. That’s what drove Kat Kennedy to write her latest single Bittersweet. After a breakup with her boyfriend, she found herself struggling to come to terms with the fact that she would not be able to see him again.
But through writing and reflection, she eventually learned to accept that it had happened and that she could still be happy. Bittersweet speaks to the power of hope and resilience in the face of heartbreak.
The production of this song is minimalistic and stripped down, with only a few electronic and acoustic sounds used. This gives it a melancholic feel. Kat sings exceptionally well. Rich and emotive, her voice draws you in and doesn’t let go.
