Lyrah had been contemplating quitting her job for a while. It wasn’t that she hated it, but she felt like it was holding her back.
Then she had a dream, and it seemed to confirm that she should follow her heart. Lyrah talked to producer Benji (of Slenderbodies) about it, and he helped her see that the dream was actually a sign from the universe.
And so Lyrah quit her job, and wrote In the Leaves, based on her own experience. She now devotes all of her time to music, which she finds very rewarding. The lyrics of this song encourage you not to doubt yourself and to be confident in your abilities.
