It’s no secret that many of our relationships are built on a transactional element–you do something for me and I’ll do something for you. But when does it go too far? When does the quid pro quo mentality start to take over and damage our relationships? Madeline Finn’s new single, On the Line, captures the moment when we let that line be blurred.
The lyrics of this song are inspired by a phone conversation Madeline had with her then-fiancee about budgets and finances while touring. It prompted them to reflect on what makes them feel like subpar partners.
On the Line is equipped with incredible instrumentation. It begins with smooth guitar melodies, but as the piece progresses, drums also become part of the soundscape. With her impressive vocals, Madeline draws you into her world.
