When you’re in a relationship, it’s natural to become completely enthralled with your partner to the point where everything else pales in comparison. Whilst this can be a really amazing feeling, it can cause problems down the road.
For instance, you might forget about your friends, family and individual pursuits which isn’t a good idea. You need to keep up with who you are and what you enjoy doing even though you’re in a relationship, or else there’s a chance that you’ll become lost.
The lyrics of A N A S T A Z I A’s new song Folie (French for ‘madness’) paint a picture of a love that has driven one partner mad. They’re so wrapped up in the other person that they aren’t even aware that they’re in a dark place.
In the music video, we see a large range of emotions conveyed in the language of dance: sadness, euphoria, joy, loss of control, pain, suffering, and hope. The female dancers represent different archetypes of one woman, each of which has its own role in love. And the only male dancer represents the lover.
Although Folie tells a fictional story, it will resonate with anyone who has ever been in a relationship that felt all-consuming. It reminds us that even the most beautiful things can have an ugly side.
