In her new single They Won’t Let You Know, Maehwa Ro suggests that it starts with reflecting on the messages being given to you and questioning them. Simply put, consider what your inner voice is saying and don’t be afraid to express it. This is no easy task — it takes courage to stand up for yourself. But what’s important here is understanding that making independent decisions doesn’t mean rejecting other people’s perspectives. It’s about being open-minded and taking in all of the different views, while ultimately still standing by your own beliefs and convictions.
Ro’s delivery of the vocals is nothing short of exceptional. You can hear the emotion in her voice but it’s not too heavy-handed—she strikes a great balance between delicacy and intensity. Every note has a purpose, and you can hear the little nuances in each line she sings.
They Won’t Let You Know offers a tremendous amount of poetic depth, which makes it one of the most interesting songs of 2022. Check it out below!
